I. Error Code Interpretation

J92-02 is the error code for a paper jam occurring in the duplex pre-registration section. This code applies to various Konica Minolta models, including the C266/C226/C360i/300i/250i/B287/367/227, and others.

II. Typical Symptoms

  • Simplex (single-sided) printing functions normally, but duplex (double-sided) printing results in a jam.
  • Intermittent jamming (sometimes 100 sheets print without issue; other times, a jam occurs after just a few sheets).
  • The paper jam consistently occurs within the duplex unit.
  • The leading edge of the paper appears slightly curled.

III. Technical Cause Analysis

The core issue lies in incorrect timing—specifically, during the feeding of the second side, the paper is fed into the registration rollers before it has properly stabilized.

Specific Causes:
1.Failure of the ADU Transport Clutch (CL6) — The most common cause.
2.Malfunction of the Registration Sensor (PS1).
3.Abnormal loop formation (paper buckling).

IV. Troubleshooting Steps

1. Open the right-side door and inspect the duplex pre-registration section.
2. Clean the Registration Sensor (PS1).
3. Enter Service Mode to check the status of the sensors.
4. Enter Service Mode to verify the operation of the ADU Transport Clutch (CL6).

Replace the ADU Transport Clutch (CL6) — This is the most effective solution!

Tested on a C368: After replacing the clutch, 600 consecutive duplex prints were produced without a single jam!
