When we use Konica Minolta Bizhub 283/363/423 series printers, we may often encounter various error codes.

KBT technicians have compiled the common error codes and solutions for Konica Minolta bizhub 283/363/423 as follows:

Error code C3823

Condition: C3823 [abnormal fixing low temperature detected (edge)] may appear when the machine is waiting or printing. After preheating, the temperature of the heating roller thermistor (TH2 edge) detected is lower than the specified temperature for a continuous specified time.

Cause: Insufficient detection time.

Solution: The detection time has been changed from 102ms to 1s

On-site measures: First install the corresponding printer firmware. If C3823 cannot be solved after installing the firmware, please replace the relevant parts with new parts (relevant parts->fixing unit, DC power supply, print control board, etc.)

Related machines and corresponding firmware: bizhub 423/363/283/223 printer version->A1UD0Y0-0050-G00-16 and higher (MFP controller version->A1UD0Y0-0100-GCT-D6 and higher) DL number->DLBT1401840EN

Error code: J6602

Condition: When feeding the original from the DF, the pickup roller does not descend and the MFP may generate an error code (J66-02)

Cause:
1. The fixing force of the pickup bracket will change due to the use of a leaf spring as a bracket
2. The overlap of the front stopper in the pickup section is small
3. If the torque limit value of the spring used in the rod assembly in the paper feed section is reduced, the rod that holds the pickup roller in the upper position cannot be released. Therefore, the pickup roller cannot be lowered

Solution:
1. Change the leaf spring to the torque spring A143PP9100 (refer to KOM101315)
2. Increase the overlap of the front stopper in the pickup section (refer to KOM110021)
3. When the above symptoms occur, replace a set (front and rear) of improved rod assemblies (increase the torque limit value of the spring by changing the inner diameter of the spring used) => A143PP9P01 (front), A143PP9Q01 (rear) (PMN: see KOM140038) The left cover assembly including the rod assembly will be changed. A143PP9N00 => A143PP9N01

Production application: A spring with a torque limit value increased by changing the inner diameter of the spring will be used. DF-621: A143WY1442046 and later versions

Konica Minolta bizhub 283/363/423 printing black bar failure

Condition: The faulty machine will have one or two black bars on the first and second sheets of paper printed every day. The drum has been opened for drying. After replacing the drum assembly, developer unit, carrier, and transfer roller, the fault still exists.

Solution: Check whether the magnetic roller contact sheets on both sides of the drum unit are in good contact. Upgrade the host firmware to the latest version.

Error code: C2253 or C2254

Condition: The developer drive unit is bonded, thereby slowing down (or stopping) the PC motor (M2).

Solution: Clear the developer drive unit and test it. If the fault code still exists, replace the developer unit.

Note: To prevent future failures, the PC motor and/or PRCB board may also need to be replaced

Error code: C5103

Condition: C5103 error code appears when charging

Cause: The main motor M1 damaged the PRCB board, causing the 24V DC power cord to fall off.

Solution: Please replace the M1 main motor and PRCB board as a set. If the problem persists after replacement, the wiring may be pinched. To see if the code disappears, cut the wire from M1 to PRCB.

Error code: CD002

Condition: CD002 error code.

Cause: Saving task data to memory/hard disk, a read error in the task data was detected.

Solution: Restart the MFP to see if the fault recurs. If the fault recurs, follow the steps in the following order, checking the fault code after each step.

1. Check that the hard disk and MFPB PJ11 connectors are connected correctly and correct if necessary
2. Format the hard disk drive (HDD)
3. Replace the hard disk drive (part number A0EDM72000)
4. Replace the MFPB (part number A1UDH0200C for bizhub 223/283; or part number A1UDH02108 for bizhub 363/423)

Konica Minolta 283/363/423 operation panel does not respond

Condition: The machine starts and the operation panel surface is normal. The machine does not respond when any function or operation of the control panel buttons or touch screen is selected. NVRAM cannot be repaired because the touch screen does not respond

Cause: The memory module on the PWB-MFP may be faulty or the operation panel may be faulty.

Solution: Verify the operation of the machine with the memory module front and back (from top to bottom and then from bottom to top). If the machine starts and displays normally, the memory function is good. If the LCD on the operation panel is blank after startup, replace both memory modules. If it is not normal, you may also need to replace the operation panel. Bizhub 223/283/363/423 (PC4300, 533Mhz, DDR2), V8653000

CC211 error code reported when the Konica Minolta 283/363/423 is turned on

Condition: Fault code CC211 appears shortly after startup. This error occurs after an attempt to delete authentication data fails. This situation may not appear in the field repair manual.

Cause: Data on the hard disk drive is destroyed.

Solution: Perform a logical format of the hard disk assembly by following the steps below.

1. Enter the maintenance mode: Stop 0 0 Stop 0 1
2. Press the buttons in the following order: [Status Confirmation] → [Memory/HDD Adjustment] [HDD Format]
3. Select [Logical Format]
4. Press the Start button to start formatting. When the formatting is completed, it will terminate automatically
5. Turn off the machine’s main power (OFF), wait 10 seconds or more, and then turn on the machine’s main power (ON)

Important: Formatting the hard disk will erase all data contained in the hard disk.

Error Code: CD004 or CD010

Condition: When no hard disk is installed and the hard disk option is enabled, the CD004 error code is displayed. If the hard disk option is disabled, the machine will display the CD010 error code (hard disk not formatted error) and will not be cleared.

Cause: Because the MFP is equipped with a solid state drive (SSD), an error occurs when there is no drive in the machine and the hard disk option is turned on.

Solution: Perform a logical format of the SSD.

1. Call up the service mode and enter the screen
2. Touch the keys in the following order: [Status Confirmation] → [Memory/HDD Adjustment] → [SSD Format]
3. Touch [Physical Format]
4. Press the Start key to begin the formatting sequence
5. When the sequence is completed, it will automatically terminate
6. Turn off the main power switch for more than 10 seconds, then turn it back on
7. Call up the service mode and enter the screen
8. Touch the keys in the following order: [Status Confirmation] → [Memory/HDD Adjustment] → [SSD Format]
9. Touch [Logical Format]
10. Press the Start key to start the formatting sequence
11. When the sequence is completed, it will automatically terminate
12. Turn off the main power switch for more than 10 seconds, then turn it back on

Important: Formatting the hard disk SSD deletes all data set in the machine.
