If the color of the document copied by the copier is too light, you can solve it from the following aspects:
1. Check the toner
1) Toner remaining:
First check the toner remaining of the copier. If the toner is insufficient, the color of the copied document will become lighter. Different models of copiers have different ways to check the toner remaining, which can generally be checked through the display menu of the copier. For example, in the main menu of some copiers, there is a “Supply Status” option, and you can see the remaining toner after entering.
When the toner remaining is low, you need to refill toner in time. Be careful to use genuine toner that matches the copier model, otherwise it may affect the copy quality.
2) Toner quality:
Even if the toner remaining is sufficient, poor toner quality may cause light color. The particle size of inferior toner may be uneven, or the composition does not meet the requirements of the copier, so that the toner cannot adhere well to the paper during the transfer and fixing process.
We recommend to replace the toner with good quality. According to the brand and model of the copier, you can choose the toner recommended by the manufacturer to ensure the copy effect.
2. Clean or replace parts
1) Scanning parts:
If there is dust or stains on the scanning parts of the copier, such as the scanning glass, scanning head and reflector, it will affect the intensity of the scanning light, which will cause the copy color to be light.
Gently wipe the scanning glass with a clean, soft cloth to remove dust and stains. For the scanning head and reflector, because they are more delicate, be extra careful when wiping. If you are not sure how to do it yourself, it is best to ask a professional maintenance person to clean it to avoid damaging the parts.
2) Toner cartridge and developer roller:
Aging or surface wear of the toner cartridge will make the copy color lighter. Check the surface of the toner cartridge for scratches or wear marks. If there are, you need to replace the toner cartridge.
The function of the developer roller is to absorb and transfer the toner to the cartridge. If there is uneven accumulation of toner on the developer roller or surface wear, it will also affect the copy color. You can wipe the developer roller with a clean cloth to remove excess toner and distribute the toner evenly. If the problem persists after wiping, you may need to replace the developer roller.
3. Adjust the copier settings
1) Density setting:
Copiers usually have a density adjustment function. Find the “Density” or “Lightness” button on the copier’s operation panel and adjust the density setting to a higher level. Different copiers may have different density adjustment methods. Some copiers adjust the density by pressing the “+” or “-” button, while others use a slider to set it.
When adjusting the density, you can first copy a test page to observe the color changes, and then gradually adjust it according to the actual situation until you reach a satisfactory color depth.
2) Color mode setting:
If the copier supports multiple color modes, such as black and white mode, grayscale mode, color mode, etc., check whether the current color mode is correct. For example, if you want to copy a color document, but the copier is set to black and white mode, the color of the copy will be very light or no color.
According to the type of document to be copied, set the color mode correctly. If it is a black and white document, select black and white mode. If it is a color document, select color mode or an appropriate grayscale mode.
