When Ricoh copier has E1-01 error code, it usually indicates that the paper feed detection sensor is faulty. Here are some possible solutions and specific steps:

1. Check the paper condition

Steps: Open the paper tray and paper feed channel of the copier to check whether there is paper in the paper tray and whether the paper is placed correctly. Make sure that the paper is not bent, wrinkled or wet, and check whether the paper size matches the copier setting. If the paper is placed irregularly or has problems, rearrange the paper or replace the appropriate paper and try to copy again.

2. Clean the sensor

Steps: Turn off the power of the copier, wait for a few minutes, carefully open the copier casing, and find the paper feed detection sensor. The paper feed detection sensor is usually located near the paper tray or paper feed channel and is a small optical or mechanical device. Use a clean soft cloth or cotton swab to gently wipe the dust, paper scraps or other debris on the surface of the sensor. Be careful not to use too much force to avoid damaging the sensor. After cleaning, install the copier casing, turn on the power again, and check whether the fault is eliminated.

3. Restart the copier

Steps: Turn off the power switch of the copier, wait for at least 10 seconds, and then turn on the power switch again to allow the copier to reinitialize. Sometimes, a temporary fault of the copier may be resolved by restarting. After restarting, try to copy to see if the E1-01 alarm code still appears.

4. Check the sensor connection line

Steps: If the above methods cannot solve the problem, it may be that the connection line of the paper feed detection sensor is loose, disconnected, or damaged. You need to turn off the power of the copier again, open the shell, and carefully check whether the connection line between the sensor and the copier motherboard is firmly connected. If the connection line is found to be loose, re-insert it. If the connection line shows signs of damage, you need to replace it with a new one.
