When using a copier, the following points can help you avoid common problems and improve your work efficiency:

1. Preventing paper jams in a copier

The copier needs to be maintained and cleaned regularly. Whenever we find a paper jam, we immediately think of the paper pickup roller problem. Therefore, for the problem of paper jams, we should regularly use absorbent cotton to clean the paper pickup roller, which can effectively avoid paper jams.

Choose a paper box close to the drum, the paper feeding process is shorter, and the probability of paper jams can also be reduced.

2. Causes of paper jams in the fuser:

Too much silicone oil, the paper rolls to the upper roller of the fuser.

There is powder residue on the guide plate, and the paper cannot be transported normally.

The lever of the fuser has foreign matter or is too short, and the paper cannot be transported normally.

After the upper roller of the fuser is broken, it is easy to cause powder sticking, resulting in the separation claws unable to properly contact the upper fixing roller and cause paper jams.

The upper and lower roller bearings of the fuser are seriously worn.

The load of the fixing unit is too heavy. You need to clean the gears and bearings.

Fusing drive gear and fixing drive motor failure, etc.

Unbalanced fixing pressure and low-quality damp copy paper can also cause paper jams in the fuser.

3. Improve copy quality

The manuscripts to be copied sometimes have different shades, and the light-colored parts of the copies are not easy to see clearly. This requires adjusting the exposure to obtain the best copying effect according to the actual situation.

Usually, the exposure is reduced and the developer concentration is increased based on the lighter handwriting. For dark-toned manuscripts such as photos and pictures, the developer concentration should be reduced and the exposure should be increased. The specific method is to pull out the exposure slit plate and adjust the light slit to a wider width to reduce the developer concentration, and to reduce the light slit to increase the developer concentration.

4. Copying double-sided manuscripts

Sometimes the copy is a double-sided manuscript, and usually the pattern on the back will be transmitted to the front when copying, causing distortion of the copy. The simplest way to solve this problem is to cover the original with a dark paper when copying, so as to avoid light transmission and copying the pattern on the back.

1) As we all know, if there are stains or other marks on the surface of the manuscripts, there will also be marks on the copied document. In order to eliminate the marks on the copied document, you can cleverly use the covering method to cover the stains on the surface of the original document to improve the copying effect. A simpler way is to use a white paper strip slightly larger than the stain range to directly cover the stain, while ensuring that the edge of the small paper strip can be in close contact with the surface of the original document, and try not to leave any gaps, and then directly put it into the copier for copying.

In addition, when we copy some thicker documents, we often find that there are shadows on the copies. You can directly find a piece of white paper and pad it on the manuscripts to eliminate the shadow. If you copy a book, there will often be a shadow between the two pages of the book. At this time, you might as well use white paper to cover the area outside the target copy area to eliminate the shadow between the two pages.

2) If the document you are copying contains image, you must first reduce the developer concentration of the copier, then move the exposure slit plate in the copier and increase the slit width, so that the exposure can be increased and the copying effect can be improved. If the document you are copying contains images of various shades, you need to reduce the exposure appropriately, so that the light-colored text in the document can be clearly copied. When reducing the exposure, you only need to adjust the developer concentration to a lighter level to achieve the goal.

3) When copying document materials, you will often encounter some urgent copying tasks. Suddenly, there is an urgent document that needs to be copied. You can press the “Pause” button on the control panel, and the copier will immediately stop the current processing task, and the number of copies in the control panel will automatically return to “1”. At this time, you can reset the number of copies. When the urgent task is completed, the copier will immediately return to the continuous working state. Then, you can press the “Pause” button again to continue working. If you want to cancel the current copy task during the operation of the copier, you can directly click the “Stop” button.
